This 10 day trip that starts in Johannesburg and ends in Cape Town. Explore the Kruger National Park with a safari guide in an open vehicle before spending a few nights in Cape Town.
Southern Africa is well-known as one of the world’s best destinations for guided tours and safaris. The area is vast, and there are so many diverse attractions that you can get the most out of your holiday by accessing professional and trusted advice, itinerary design, planning, logistics and expert guidance. Guided holidays are also sociable and fun, enabling you to connect with people while enjoying all the enthralling adventure, magnificent beauty and amazing variety that Southern Africa offers.
You will be collected by your guide and transferred to Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park.
After settling in to your accommodations (twin bed chalets with en suite bathrooms), you go out on your first game drive which is a SAN PARKS sunset drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
Dinner is a three course meal, served el fresco at our private camp within Skukuza. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! The time you go on your Game Drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. We have tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
On returning to the camp brunch will be ready. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax. Be sure to bring your binoculars, Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp is also a bird watcher’s paradise!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon Kruger Park game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share African safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
The sun rises over our final day in the Park and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After breakfast you are transferred back to Skukuza Airport for your flight to Cape Town International Airport. The transfer to the airport will take about 15 minutes and your flight time to Cape Town is approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes.
On arrival you will be collected at the airport and transferred to the Hotel. The rest of the day is spent at your own leisure.
Today is spent at your own leisure and you can participate in the many activities that can be arranged at the hotel reception desk. You can take a trip Table Mountain, visit the Seal Colony, take a boat trip to Robben Island, or visit one of the local wine farms.
Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast, on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain. Slowly rotating cable cars climb to the mountain’s flat top, from which there are sweeping views of the city, the busy harbor and boats heading for Robben Island, the notorious prison that once held Nelson Mandela, which is now a living museum.
After a leisurely breakfast you check out from the hotel. We have arranged a transfer for you back to the airport. If you would like to spend the last day in cape Town then we can arrange for you to leave your baggage at the hotel and your airport transfer will be in the late afternoon.
