Upon arrival you will be collected at the OR Tambo Airport and transferred to the Hotel. You check in and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.
You will be collected by your guide from the hotel and transferred to a Rest camp in the Kruger National Park.
After settling in to your accommodations (twin bed chalets with en suite bathrooms), you go out on your first game drive which is a SAN PARKS sunset drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
Dinner is a three-course meal, served al fresco at our private camp within the Rest Camp. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring alongadditional/alternativee drinks which can be purchased at the shop.
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! The time you go on your Game Drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. We have tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
On returning to camp brunch will be ready. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Park shop which includes African curios, general food items, and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax. Be sure to bring your binoculars, the Rest Camp is also a bird watcher’s paradise!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon Kruger Park game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share African safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
The sun rises over our final day in the Park and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After breakfast you are transferred back to Skukuza Airport for your flight to Cape Town.
Upon your arrival in Cape Town you will be collected and transferred to the Hotel and the rest of your day is spent at leisure.
Today is spent at your own leisure in Cape Town. There are many things to do in and around the city including boat, cultural, walking and city tours or spend the day lazing at the beach.
Your exciting experience begins in Cape Town. After departing nice and early at around 07:00, we drive through the scenic countryside and stop for tea en-route before arriving at Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Show Farm, our accommodation for the evening. This hideaway is found between the famous Garden Route and the wide-open spaces of the Klein Karoo. Following the ostrich tour here, we’ll get to enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring to our comfy rooms for a good night’s’ sleep.
There will be plenty to do on this day! You could visit Meerkat Adventures (optional and own expense), where you can do a two to three-hour tour with wild meerkats … before sunrise, we might add. Then, after breakfast, we’ll depart to Cango Caves – home to dripstone caverns containing vast halls and towering formations – for their Heritage Tour at 09:00. Once we’ve explored this unique site, we’ll enjoy a tasty lunch at Steytlerville Royal Hotel (own expense).
Following our arrival at the main camp at Addo Elephant National Park, we’ll aim to spot lions, elephants and more on a sunset SANParks drive. Remember, this is not a private game drive and other guests may be joining you on the drive. Dinner is a two-course meal, made with love and served al fresco. You may also be happy to know that wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional/alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.
Today, we’ll spend our time exploring the Addo Elephant National Park. Starting off with a morning game drive, our guides will aim to show us as much of the park, and the magnificent creatures that call it home, as possible, before we head back to the camp for a yummy and much-needed breakfast. After this, you’ll have some free time, which you could spend exploring the camp.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another game drive, which offers us the opportunity to see the animals we haven’t as yet, before heading back to camp for an exquisite dinner and great conversation with the new friends we’ve made
After getting off to an early start, we grab some breakfast and then head to the stunning, scenic Storms River, which travels through the Tsitsikamma Mountain Range and then out into the Indian Ocean … it’s a popular stop on the Garden Route. And if you think that sounds amazing, just wait until we get to experience the John Benn sunset cruise – it’s known as one of the best floating restaurants in Knysna!
Our accommodation on this evening will be at Aestas, a cosy B&B, located in Knysna, that offers stunning views and is only a walk away from several shops and restaurants. After all that exploring, this place is the perfect spot to spend the night!
Today is the day you get to catch up on all the sleep you’ve missed. We have the morning at leisure before departing to Agulhas at about 11:00 … the drive may seem long but scenery along the way more than makes up for it.
We travel through the scenic Overberg region (you might see The Langeberg mountain Range in the distance), which has rolling hills and fields of wheat and canola, and fynbos. We’ll also pass well-known towns like Mossel Bay and Bredasdorp, which, by the way, has a great shipwreck museum … you might even be able to visit it if it’s open when we pass by.
Once we reach Agulhas National Park – our accommodation for the evening – we’ll get to enjoy not only breath-taking views but also a fine meal beneath the stars and the South African sky.
After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll commence our journey through one of the most scenic parts of the country. If you didn’t get to see enough shipwrecks in Bredasdorp, Agulhas would have a few noteworthy ones, too. To appease those rumbling tummies, we’ll stop in the town of Hermanus to have lunch (own expense) and hopefully of spot several southern right whales (seasonal) while we’re at it.
After grabbing a bite to eat, we’ll continue through to Stellenbosch for an unforgettable wine tasting at one of the wine farms, depending on the time available, before concluding our journey in Cape Town. The tour ends at 17:00 at the airport and guests are reminded not to book domestic flights departing earlier than 19:00 or international flights departing earlier than 20:00. Guests staying on in Cape Town will be transferred to their hotel after our stop at the airport.
Spend today at your own leisure in Cape Town and visit the many sights Cape Town has to offer such as Robben Island, Table Mountain Cableway, a wine farm, seal colony, or a day tour of the Cape Peninsula.
After a leisurely breakfast, you are expected to check out from the hotel by 10:00 am. You can spend the rest of the day in Cape Town before being transferred to the Cape Town Airport.
