This 5 Day Classic Kruger Park Safari will see you stay at a Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp situated inside the Park. The tour starts and finishes at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport or the hotel where you are staying in the Johannesburg or Pretoria Region.
You are taken care of you from the minute you are picked up from your hotel in Johannesburg right up until the moment you are dropped off on the last day and bid you farewell.
This safari stays inside the Kruger National Park. The 5 day Classic Kruger Safari provides you with enough time on safari to see an amazing variety of wildlife that the Kruger National Park has to offer.
The Kruger Park is one of Africa’s most famous National Parks. There are 147 mammal species found in Kruger which is more than any other wildlife reserve in Africa! Of these the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) are of course included. On this safari we include open vehicle drives and a sunset drive. This safari gives you an amazing African wildlife experience.
We leave on your Kruger Park Safari from Johannesburg in the early morning to allow for various collection points. The route to your African Safari takes us through the Highveld with its wide open spaces, down the escarpment, and through the scenic Lowveld area. En-route to the Kruger National Park Camp we stop for lunch (own expense)
You will go out on your first Game Drive (SANParks Sunset Drive) after settling into your accommodation. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal African Wildlife. The Kruger Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that this is not a private Game Drive and that other guests may be joining you on this drive.
(Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
On returning to the Camp, a three-course dinner awaits you.
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! The time you go on your Game Drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. We have tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
On returning to the camp brunch will be ready. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the museum or the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at your bungalow. Be sure to bring your binoculars as Berg-en Dal Rest Camp is also a bird watcher’s paradise!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon Kruger Park game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share African safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!). You will be joining a SANParks Morning Walk with an experienced game ranger.
On returning to Skukuza, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Skukuza museum, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Skukuza is also a bird watcher’s paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
The final day of your Kruger Park Safari will be your last chance to see the Big Five Animals that have eluded you thus far. After brunch we return to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.
